Two outstanding Scottish Ensemble musicians visit Theatre Royal in Dumfries for a lively and varied evening of duos for violin and cello.

Chosen by violinist Cheryl Crockett and cellist Alison Lawrance, the programme is a showcase of some of their favourite pieces for the two instruments. Spanning the Baroque to the 20th Century, they will shift between moods and styles, from the rich, earthy sounds of Bartók’s folk-inspired melodies to the romance of Ravel’s sonata to Halvorsen’s Passacaglia, an impressive, virtuosic gambol across all the strings inspired by Handel.

This is a rare opportunity to experience two outstanding string musicians from the UK’s leading string orchestra playing in a more intimate setting; please join us on what promises to be a powerful, moving and thoroughly entertaining evening of music.
