Auchencairn-based cèilidh dance band Whirligig is the trio of Ruth Morris (fiddle, nyckelharpa), Gavin Marwick (fiddle) and Pete Garnett (accordion), playing acoustic instrumental music from Scotland and many other European traditions and cultures.

Whilst all three musicians are well known as individuals on the Scottish Trad Music scene and for being part of Gavin Marwick’s Journeyman project, Bellevue Rendezvous and Moishe’s Bagel, this trio is comparatively new in its current incarnation.

Whirligig embark on a tour of rural locations in the region with a series of cèilidh dance evenings complete with top quality music and a caller.

The musicians will also be holding workshops during the afternoon on the day of each concert, in various instruments including fiddle, accordion and whistle.
