Scientific Romance Theatre Company will perform H G Wells’ The Time Machine in New Galloway, Dumfries and Moniaive.
The show takes family audiences on a thrilling journey to a future age where things are not as they seem.
Combining bunraku style puppetry, melodramatic live action, hand-painted projection and a thrilling soundtrack, this fast-paced adaptation of the sci-fi masterpiece raises fascinating questions for young inquisitive minds.
Seventy years after his death, this Wells’ classic is widely regarded as the first work of modern science fiction. A “scientific romance”, as he called it. The tale is as much about class, wealth discrepancy, and man’s struggles against nature and fellow man, as it is about time travel.
The show comes to the CatStrand, New Galloway, on 23 February at 7.30pm; Lochside Community Centre, Dumfries, on 24 February at 7pm; and Glencairn Memorial Institute, Moniaive, on 25 February at 2pm.
Suitable for family audiences and children ages 7+
