The call -out is intentionally broad as we want to leave as much freedom  as possible for artists to be involved in the programme.

The programme comes under two strands

Seeking events that reflect the culture of D&G – We are looking to support D&G based performing artists and promoters to stage ambitious arts event, that reflect their own creative ambitions. The intention is to show the region’s performing arts community at its best.

As a borderland region,  D&G has much in common with, and much that separates it from, its neighbours in Scotland, North of England, Ireland and Isle of Man. We are looking for performing arts events that explore and or celebrate the connections, similarities and differences with our neighbours.

Events should seek an underwrite of between £500-£3000

Young Promoters and Artist Scheme

Events selected and promoted by young people for young people, underwritten by Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival.

Open to young promoters, artists and youth organisations, to programme their own live performing arts events.

Please contact the Festival Producer Lou Davies  who will support you throughout the process. We will underwrite the costs up to a maximum of £1000

Events should

  • take place between 25 May – June 3 2018
  • be a performing arts event, including one or more of these art forms: music, theatre, dance  comedy, and the spoken word
  • be exciting and ambitious, beyond your normal programme

We are looking to create a programme that is high quality and has broad public appeal.

We will underwrite the event against loss against an agreed budget to an agreed maximum.  In the case of a free event, you can apply for a small grant in place of a guarantee.

Deadline for applications  is Friday, 10 November at 5pm. Decisions will be communicated by 23 November.
