We’re excited to be celebrating our 40th Anniversary.  Do you have any memories you’d like to share?  Which act do you remember the most over the last 40 years? We’d love to hear your stories AND we’re also on the hunt for our missing programmes – do you have the first programme from 1979?  Perhaps you’ve got some great pictures from the festival to share? Please contact press@dgartsfestival.org.uk or phone our office on 01387 259 627.

Our new Director, Dani Rae, has programmed a fantastic ten-day extravaganza which includes theatre, music, comedy, spoken word and dance all helping to support our region’s fantastic venues, located from Stranraer to Gretna.

The festival will open with a World Premiere by Perth Theatre at Horsecross Arts presenting Lost at Sea by Morna Young. This epic tale was inspired by the loss of her own fisherman father, and features the voices of fishermen and their families in their own words, through music, song and Scots language.

This year we are delighted to be working on additional joint marketing activity,  with Spring Fling – Scotland’s Premier Arts and Craft Open Studio Event, supported by Dumfries & Galloway Council. This will include a new digital and printed map, detailing locations of all visual and performing events throughout the region.

The Spring/Summer season of Arts Live, our year-round programme of performing arts in D&G, begins in March and will run until the end of August so please take a look at www.dgartslive.org.uk to which events you may like and look out for your copy of our printed brochure.

If you would like to bring a friend to join our Membership Scheme and attend the launch evening at Loch Arthur, please contact us on the telephone number below.

We look forward to you joining us on Tuesday 12th March to celebrate 40 years of Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival!
